Over the last weekend in Welsh Football, one of the most significant attendances was found at Colwyn Bay vs Holywell Town, where 1400 people turned out to watch tier two mens’ football. However, that number seems minuscule compared to a match that happened just 24 hours later.

Wrexham AFC is going through something pretty special at the moment. However, with all the spotlight on Paul Mullin, Ben Foster and co trying to win the National League, red and white warriors were fighting for the same thing but in their own inimitable way. Wrexham AFC Women played Connah's Quay Nomads Women in front of 9,511 at The Racecourse, obliterating the previous record set by Cardiff City Women earlier in the season.

83 minutes in, Wrexham's superstar centre forward - Rosie Hughes, sent Y Cae Ras into raptures as they sealed the Genero Adran title, winning 12 games out of 12.

The people of Wrexham turned out in their droves to see this unstoppable force gallop on. With Rob McElhenny and Ryan Reynolds in attendance, it shows how women's football is on the up and how it can inspire so many young girls and women.

With one more game to seal their promotion - a playoff against Briton Ferry Llansawel, the Genero Adran Premier looks to be in touching distance, meaning more records are likely to be broken soon and Wrexham’s winning women continue to push for the front at the Racecourse.
