Middlesbrough have a well-built reputation for having a proper support.

On a day when “spy-gate” hit the news, the Teesside club’s fans turned up en masse for a coach greet at the Riverside.

Not that you could really see the team coach amid the red pyro, which blanketed the streets around the stadium before the Championship playoff first leg.

Martin Lindsay went to take a look, and came out more smokey than smoggy.
