An FC St. Pauli trip to Scotland was always going to gain interest, particularly when it’s to Dunfermline Athletic of the Scottish Championship.

Why were the “Kult” German club playing this particularly Scottish outfit in a pre-season friendly? Well, the DAFC Fussball GmbH investment group have a stake in the East End Park club and the Pars’ Sporting Director Thomas Meggle has both played for and managed St. Pauli.

Nothing was going to stop Ian Parker aka The Saturday Boy from going to watch his beloved FC St. Pauli and when you get Chewzo aka Liam Hewitt along too, the photos are always going to be good.

Over 7,000 packed into East End Park on the night with with a healthy contingent from the Millerntor Nordkurve and Gegengerade.

Celtic fans also showed their solidarity, while there was also representation from FC St. Pauli fan groups from all over the UK and beyond, which added to a good atmosphere.

Although, FC St. Pauli ran out 0-3 winners, the power of reinforced bonds was immeasurable.

All welcome.
